happy january! / happy 2014!

Happy 2014! Here are my favorite instagrams from December.

My stuffed mice on my bed during a snowy weekend, a resilient rose from my backyard.

The perfume Peter gave me for Christmas (it smells like books!), the carousel building in Asbury Park.

Some small resolutions:

1.
Spend less time on Facebook. I have really grown to dislike Facebook, if I'm being honest. Most of the time I look through the site, I feel annoyed. I "liked" too many pages out of obligation or to get coupons, so my feed is cluttered. And a lot of my friends, even ones I love, can post annoying things sometimes. I have started to clean up the clutter and I plan to some some time each day getting my newsfeed in order. I want to hide posts, pages, and people I have no interest in seeing so that I can use the tool to keep in touch with people and brands I am interested in hearing from.

2. And more time on Instagram. Instagram, on the other hand, is my social media happy place. I have found the Instagram and VSCO cam communities to be fun, inspiring, and positive. I always feel good after scrolling through my Instagram feed, so I plan to keep being active there. I also love challenging myself to make worthwhile photos with my phone. You can join me over there if you'd like. My username is ksulphoto.

3. Improve my cooking skills. I have been cooking for myself since September, and it isn't always easy. Cooking and shopping for one person is a challenge, but I'm getting better, slowly. I hope I get even better in 2014.

What are you planning to do in 2014?!

  2. Lovely instagrams!

I'm with you - Facebook sucks. It's a negative place that breeds both narcissism and low self esteem. I really don't enjoy FB at all.
